The story begins with a bank robbery by a mysterious figure. Then we are introduced to Mr. Fogg, honest-looking, well-turned out and with good teeth. He is accompanied by his newly-acquired valet, Mr. Passepartout. Hot in their pursuit is the detective Fix of Scotland Yard, who thinks that Fogg is the man who robbed the bank. Sara Trowbridge (Passepartout) is delighted to be traveling the world in 80 days and hopes you enjoy the journey as well. She is a Pacific Northwest theater veteran, and was last seen here this year on the mainstage as the Mom in The Last Starfighter, and on the TYA stage as the Night Watchman in Corduroy. Other favorite roles include Belinda in Noises Off (SecondStory Repertory), Sissy in the world premier musical The Hours of Life (Theatre22), God in Wild Party (Sound Theatre Company), and Jane Banbury in Fallen Angels (Theater Schmeater).
MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM
Jalyn Green (Director) is delighted to be returning as director to SSR having previously directing Goodnight Moon for the TYA. He is no stranger to the SSR stage having appeared in Born Yesterday, Picasso at the Latin Agile, The Pillowman, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and four trips to 1800’s London in A Christmas Carol. He’s studied theater arts at Centralia College and at the University of Washington. Thanks to his amazing cast, costume designer, and of course THE SQUOLF for this amazing opportunity.
Jocelyne Fowler (Costume Designer) has designed for SecondStory Repertory (Bye Bye Birdie, Anne of Green Gables, Evita, Chess: the Musical, The Lion in Winter, etc.), Seattle Shakespeare Company (Arms and the Man, Timon of Athens, Mrs. Warren's Profession, Titus Andronicus, Richard II), Book-It Repertory Theatre (Jane Eyre, Treasure Island, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Frankenstein, Anna Karenina), Taproot Theatre (A Civil War Christmas), Harlequin Productions, Tacoma Musical Playhouse, Vashon Opera, Youth Theatre Northwest, and others. She is the recipient for the 2016 Gregory Award in Outstanding Costume Design. Upcoming work can be seen in Arsenic and Old Lace at Taproot Theatre.
