World-Wide Simultaneous Dance Fund-Raiser Returning to Redmond The second annual fundraiser for the Second Story Repertory expects to break new records. REDMOND, WA — June 24, 2010 —The Second Annual “Thrill the World” Zombie Dance and Block Party is set to lurch its way into Redmond Town Center on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Last year around the world 22,596 dancers participated in this simultaneous global phenomenon. In Seattle there were over 160 dancers at Occidental Park.. At Redmond Town Center, over 300 people performed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in the Center Court of Redmond Town Center as more than 2,000 spectators cheered them on. The ‘Redmond Zombies’ organizers this year are anticipating an even bigger crowd of dancers and spectators as the word spreads about the success of the event last year! You can participate in this world-changing event by pledging a Zombie or by learning the “Thriller” dance yourself. Starting September 11, Teresa Osborn, international dance instructor, will once again lead free dance workshops in conjunction with the City of Redmond Parks & Recreation. Workshops are being held at the Redmond Senior Center every Saturday (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon) through October 16. Check out www.RedmondZombies.com for details and to sign up. Set the week before Halloween, this costumed event is an ideal fundraiser for the theater-based educational programs of Second Story Repertory. Last year’s event raised thousands of dollars for the popular, educational programs held throughout the year at SecondStory Repertory. |
